Kangaroo

Red kangaroos can jump up to 30 feet in one leap, but they usually make shorter hops.

The kangaroos at the zoo are practicing their evasive maneuvers in case they encounter other Australian animals. Starting in the starting square, each one will make a series of horizontal and vertical hops (NOT diagonal!) from letter to letter to spell out the name of one of the Australian animals in the list below the grid (the order is for you to determine).

As the kangaroo lands on each letter, cross it out. Kangaroos will jump over any letters that have already been crossed out (again, only horizontally and vertically, NOT diagonally) and land on the next available letter in that row or column. They cannot jump over letters that have not been crossed out, and they cannot change directions in midair.

There’s only one valid pattern that will allow all eleven animal names to be spelled out completely! When done, the unused letters in the grid will spell the answer.
